Welcome to Rosehaven

Our
Story
To me, it’s the greatest love story. I was a single mom of three, and Ken was a single dad of two. We were high school sweethearts for a short time before life took us in different directions. Then—23 years later—Classmates.com brought us back together. We didn’t waste a moment before building a life side by side.
In August 2001, we bought our home: a 1928 farmhouse that was run-down, filled with junk, and desperately in need of love. Ken wasn’t sure he saw the potential, but I knew right away—it was the home I had always dreamed of. I named her Rosehaven in honor of the climbing rose that stretched along the fence and garage. Just a year later, in 2002, we were married right here in the front yard.
Over the years, we’ve poured countless hours, gallons of paint, and plenty of elbow grease into turning this house into our haven. Being thrifty by nature, most of our projects have been done on a shoestring budget. I love finding beauty in what others might call junk, and transforming it into something special for our home.
My creative journey has taken me many places—florist, wedding coordinator, gift shop owner, sign-making workshop teacher, and even a seasonal tea hostess. But when the world turned upside down in 2020, I felt a pull to slow down and shift directions. I eventually closed my studio and came home to create. It’s been a process of rediscovery—uncovering old joys I had set aside during the busyness of life, and little by little, shaping the life I once only dreamed of.
Today, Ken and I live simply here at Rosehaven with our dog, Jack, and a few cats. Our days are filled with love, peace, and a deeper appreciation for a slower way of living—less stuff and more substance. I’m so grateful to share a little piece of that life with you.
I hope you'll come back often and watch our progress. And hopefully gain some inspiration for your home. I hope to show that making do doesn't have to mean doing without and that there is still beauty to be found in simple things.
